India shot down low-Earth orbit satellite: PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said India has shot down a low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite, demonstrating its space warfare capability. The low-Earth orbit satellite was shot down at a range of 300 km, PM Modi said.

PM Narendra Modi said only US, China and Russia have this capability.

PM Narendra Modi had earlier tweeted that he would be addressing the nation with an important message. "I would be addressing the nation at around 11:45 AM - 12.00 noon with an important message. Do watch the address on television, radio or social media," PM Narendra Modi tweeted minutes before his address to the nation.
