Himachal Pradesh flash floods: Residents, tourists witness harrowing time

Monsoons have wreaked havoc in parts of Himachal Pradesh. The state government has issued a travel advisory for tourists after a flash flood triggered by a cloudburst swept away buildings and cars in some districts.

It asked them to postpone their travel plans to areas prone to landslides and also directed them to avoid Kangra valley till July 18 as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the state.

Visiting kullu-Manali and places beyond Manali, including Rohtang Pass and Hamta Pass, is not safe, the state government said.
