Have closed 600 madrasas in Assam, intend to close all: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma vowed to continue his crackdown on madrasas in the state, saying people want to pursue education in schools and colleges instead. “I have closed 600 madrasas and I intend to close all madrasas because we do not want madrasas. We want schools, colleges and universities,” Himanta Biswa said while addressing the BJP's Vijay Sankalp Yatra in poll-bound Karnataka’s Belagavi on Thursday.
