Gold smuggling case: ED gets 7-day custody of Kerala CM's former principal secretary

Suspended IAS Shivashankar, the former principal secretary of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, was produced before a court on Thursday and remanded in Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody for a week in connection to the gold smuggling case. He was arrested by ED on Wednesday in connection to the gold smuggling case.
The gold smuggling racket was unearthed on July 5 after Customs seized a diplomatic consignment containing 30 kg gold sent from UAE.
