Madhya Pradesh farmers protest over loan waiver, perform Shavasana on Barabanki-Faizabad highway

The Barabanki-Faizabad highway has been blocked by hundreds of farmers, who are practicing the 'shavasana' (corpse pose which resembles the posture of a dead body) on the highway as a mark of protest.

Traffic was brought to a complete standstill after the farmer took to the highway to highlight the agrarian crisis. However, ambulance and students going to appear examination were allowed to go.

In Madhya Pradesh the farmers under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Sangh headed by Shivkumar Sharma 'Kakkaji' are demonstrating their protest through this posture of 'Shavasana' since their demands for loan waiver and better prices for the agriculture produce are still not met.

They have demanding action against administrative and police officials responsible for the firing by police in Mandsaur recently in which five farmers were dead and many injured.
