Faith vs equality debate reignites as Sabarimala temple opens

The faith versus equality debate has reignited as Sabarimala temple opened its doors for the devotees today for the two-month-long Mandala-Makaravillakku pilgrimage season.

On the first day, ten women from Andhra Pradesh, who came to offer prayers at the Lord Ayyappa temple, were sent back from Pamba. Though, security has been beefed-up around the temple, but women devotees are not been provided security who want to visit the shrine. So, will women be allowed to enter temple?
