Damning ground report on Yogi's encounter raj: Rewards turning UP Police trigger happy?

As many as 40 alleged criminals have been killed, and 247 injured, in over 1,200 encounters carried out in 12 months by police in Yogi Adityanath's Uttar Pradesh.

The UP police have faced a lot of criticism in the recent past for the number of encounters in the state but Yogi government has made it clear to his police that crackdown on criminals should continue to ensure the criminals either surrender or face encounter.
