BJP, YSRCP at loggerheads over Tipu Sultan's statue in Andhra Pradesh

A fresh political controversy has erupted between the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit of Andhra Pradesh over the installation of Tipu Sultan's statue in the constituency. The Andhra Pradesh unit of the BJP has opposed the idea of setting up a statue of Tipu Sultan in the district. BJP leader Lanka Dinakar opposed the idea of the Andhra Pradesh government, calling it a move to appease Muslims.
