Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi was shot dead outside a gurdwara in broad daylight in Punjab's Jalandhar on Friday, officials said. According to preliminary information, Oberoi was fired at multiple times outside a Gurudwara by two bike-borne assailants, with at least five bullets hitting his body.
Police said Oberoi was in his car at the time of the attack. The attack took place outside a Gurdwara Sahib in Jalandhar's crowded Model Town area.
He was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Soon after the incident, police teams reached the spot and cordoned off the area. An investigation has been launched to identify the attackers and establish the motive behind the killing.
