Video: Drunk man threatens Tamil Nadu cop, incident caught on camera

Commuters in Tiruppur captured a tense moment on camera after a man allegedly threatened a police officer with a knife near the Veeraragava temple, where police were deployed for crowd management during the auspicious Sorgavaasal (Heaven’s Gate) event; officials said the man, reportedly in an inebriated state, began arguing with cops before pulling out the weapon and threatening the crowd and a policeman, Ramakrishnan, who stepped back and used his belt in self-defence, following which other policemen overpowered the man and took him to the police station, with the accused claiming to be from Thanjavur, and a detailed investigation has been initiated.
