Key parties and how they will swing in the Prez poll

The Congress alone has 3,31,855 votes or 30.3 per cent of the total share. As a result, more than half of votes needed by Pranab Mukherjee will come from his own party.

The BJP, which is backing Sangma, has 21.20 per cent votes, while it's ally Akali Dal has 1.10 per cent votes, making the total for P A Sangma from the NDA camp 22.30 per cent.

The SP, with 6.34 per cent of the vote, and the BSP, with four per cent votes, are also on the UPA's side. This gives Mukherjee another 10.34 per cent votes.

The Trinamool Congress, which has 4.4 per cent of the votes, is now on Mukherjee's side.

AIADMK's 3.30 per cent votes and the BJD's 2.80 per cent add up for another 6.10 per cent for Sangma.

The JD-U has 3.80 per cent votes and the Shiv Sena, with 1.70 per cent votes. Both favour Mukherjee.

Among the Left parties, the CPI-M (3.30 per cent) and Forward Block (.40 per cent) will vote for Mukherjee.

The CPI (.80 per cent) and RSP (.30 per cent) will abstain, which will also favours Mukherjee.

The balance 8.09 per cent votes are of smaller parties who are not represented in Parliament, but have legislators in state assemblies.
