Actors Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Rannta are set to headline Netflix’s upcoming original film Accused, which premieres on the platform on February 27. Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and produced by Dharma Productions, the film examines themes of trust, belief, and betrayal in the wake of a serious accusation.

Set in London, Accused follows the life of a celebrated doctor whose world begins to unravel after she is accused of sexual misconduct. As public scrutiny intensifies and perceptions harden, the film explores how accusations strain personal relationships and force difficult moral choices. By placing a woman at the centre of the accusation, the film raises questions around power, perception, and the fragility of truth when certainty is elusive.

According to the makers, Accused avoids clear moral binaries and instead focuses on emotional complexity. The story unfolds as one woman’s word against another, asking viewers to sit with discomfort rather than offering easy answers.

In a statement, the team behind Accused said the film explores moral conflict without simplifying human behaviour. They added that director Anubhuti Kashyap approached the subject with restraint and empathy, while placing women at the centre of a narrative that is rarely explored in mainstream cinema. The team also highlighted the relationship between the two lead characters as the emotional core of the film.
