Seven seats in Delhi in focus as stage set for 6th phase of Lok Sabha polls

Delhi is in the spotlight in the next round of Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to be held on May 20. Developments in Delhi are viewed as crucial as they arguably hint at the overall national picture.

Out of the 7 seats, several of them are witnessing intense contests this time, and the city saw a high-pitched campaign by key leaders of both the BJP and the Opposition INDIA bloc. In North East Delhi, BJP's two-time MP Manoj Tiwari is taking on Congress's strong youth face, Kanhaiya Kumar.

In neighbouring Haryana, the Kurukshetra constituency has emerged as a top focus as industrialist Naveen Jindal represents the BJP, after recently switching over from the Congress. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has fielded Abhay Chautala, while Sushil Gupta of the Aam Aadmi Party is the INDIA bloc candidate from Kurukshetra.

West Bengal's Tamluk seat, where BJP's Abhijit Gangopadhyay is fighting the Lok Sabha election, is another key constituency in the sixth phase of polls.
