UK pledges more than 600 vital medical supplies to India, first shipment arrived today

The United Kingdom is sending more than 600 pieces of vital medical equipment including ventilators and oxygen concentrators to India to support the fight against the raging Covid-19 second wave. The assistance package, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, includes ventilators and oxygen concentrators from surplus stocks. It will be used by the Indian government to provide vital medical treatment to those suffering from Covid-19 in India, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said.

As the first shipment of medical supplies arrived this morning, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, "International cooperation at work! Appreciate the shipment of vital medical supplies from Flag of United Kingdom including 100 ventilators and 95 oxygen concentrators that arrived early this morning."
