Maharashtra faces oxygen cylinders crisis amid surge in Covid-19 cases

Amidst the massive surge in Covid cases, Maharashtra is facing an acute shortage of oxygen cylinders. In Ahmednagar district, the daily demand ranges between 50 to 70 tonnes of oxygen, but the supply is around 15 tonnes. In Nalasopara, on the outskirts of Mumbai, 12 patients died at a private hospital on April 12, reportedly due to the unavailability of oxygen.
