Hospitals run out of beds, ventilators as Covid-19 cases surge across India

Several hospitals across India were left without ventilator beds and ICU beds as Covid-19 cases surge across the country. The healthcare system is again said to be in crisis with the second wave of Covid-19 in the country. Besides this, some states including Maharashtra, Odisha, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh cited a shortage of vaccine stocks.

India's Covid-19 curve has seen a steady increase since mid-February. The number of coronavirus cases in India once again crossed the 1-lakh mark, according to the data provided by governments of various states and Union territories.
