Covid-19 cases continue to rise in India; lockdown extended in Delhi by another week

Battling the 2nd wave of the coronavirus pandemic, India continues to witness a spike in Covid-19 cases and deaths. The country registered 3,11,170 new cases and 4,077 more fatalities in the last 24 hours. There is a clear sign that the second wave is peaking as the number of cases drops closer to 3 lakh.

On the other hand, the ongoing lockdown in Delhi has been extended by another week even as the national capital sees a decline in the Covid-19 cases for the past few days. The lockdown in Delhi has been extended till May 24, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced on Sunday.
