DMK a dishonest party, neither loyal to Dravidian nor to Tamil: S Gurumurthy

RSS ideologue and Thuglak editor S Gurumurthy called the DMK a dishonest party and said it is neither sincere to Dravidian ideology nor to Tamil identity. He described the party’s claim to Tamil pride as a “stolen identity” that misrepresents Tamil culture.

Speaking at the India Today South Conclave 2025, S Gurumurthy said, "The DMK is a dishonest party. In 1965, they had this anti-Hindi agitation. Suddenly, they became Tamil lovers.  He contended that the DMK adopted Tamil identity for political gain, suggesting it was 'orphaned by Dravidian racialism' and that 'Tamil was an untenanted property, handed over free by the Congress to the DMK'.

With the state assembly elections just two months away, the ED conducted simultaneous searches at the I-PAC office and Jain’s home in connection with an alleged coal scam and money laundering case. A furious Mamata Banerjee accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of weaponising central agencies to steal her party’s election strategy and candidate lists. Addressing the media, she remarked, ‘The naughty Home Minister, who cannot protect the country, and he is taking away all my party documents.’ The Chief Minister was seen leaving the premises with files she claimed were Trinamool Congress property. The BJP has condemned her actions as an unconstitutional obstruction of a legal investigation.
