Scuffle breaks out between King George hospital staff and patient's kin in Lucknow

A scuffle broke out between the ward boy and attendants of a patient at King George's Medical University in Lucknow after the hospital staff allegedly asked the patient's kin to take him to another hospital.

A video of the incident from outside the trauma center premises went viral. Following this, the KGMU terminated the services of the ward boy on Sunday.

The man, Rameez, worked as a ward boy at KGMU on a contractual basis.

Reportedly, the ward boy asked attendants of the patient to take him to another hospital, which led to arguments and later turned into manhandling.

"The services of Rameez have been terminated for misconduct with public. It will send a message among staff that those whosoever show indiscipline, strict action will be taken," said KGMU spokesperson Dr Sudhir Singh.

Madras High Court Rules Udhayanidhi Stalin's Sanatana Dharma Remarks As Hate Speech

This special report covers the Madras High Court's significant ruling regarding Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin's controversial 2023 remarks on Sanatana Dharma. The court's Madurai Bench observed that comparing the faith to diseases like dengue and malaria constitutes 'hate speech' and a 'clear attack on Hinduism.' The bench further noted that phrases like 'Sanatana Ozhippu' imply 'genocide and culturicide,' signaling the eradication of a culture. The ruling came as the court quashed an FIR against BJP leader Amit Malviya, stating his response to the inflammatory statement did not constitute hate speech. While the DMK maintains there was 'no hate intent' and that the Deputy Chief Minister was questioning the definition of Sanatana, the BJP claims the verdict exposes 'anti-Hindu sentiments' used for vote bank politics. The report highlights the court's concern over a 'disturbing trend' where initiators of hate speech often go unpunished while respondents face legal action, raising questions about future accountability for the Deputy Chief Minister.

The discussion focuses on the entry of TTV Dinakaran's AMMK into the NDA fold and its potential impact on the upcoming 2026 assembly elections. Akshita Nandagopal notes, 'Does someone like a TTV Dinakaran even matter?' while analysts point out his concentrated vote share in crucial constituencies. The programme features Kovai Sathiyan of the AIADMK, who argues that a united front is necessary to 'show the door' to the DMK's 'dynasty rule'. Conversely, DMK spokesperson Saravanan dismisses the alliance, citing a 'pro-incumbency wave' and the popularity of Chief Minister M. K. Stalin. The debate explores whether the consolidation of smaller parties like AMMK and PMK can overcome the DMK-led coalition's historical dominance or if the BJP's presence will act as a deterrent for Tamil voters.
