They are the most hated. The dirtier the dialogues, the more real they get and leave a lasting impression on the minds of the viewers. These are the bad guys of Bollywood. However brilliant he might be, the villain has to be beaten dead by the hero at the end. Here's our list of the top villains of Bollywood we adore (or hate, we must say!)

Rajnikanth played Chitti in Enthiran, the 2010 Tamil sci-fi action film. He, in fact, played a double role in the film: as a scientist and an andro humanoid robot. His character as a robot follows him as he unleashes havoc on the world.

Arjun Rampal played a villain called Ra.One in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer of the same name. He gives the protagonist, played by Shah Rukh, his final fight in the film after drawing him in to the virtual world of a video game.

Vivek Oberoi starred as the paraplegic, wheel-chair bound mastermind who wants to rule the world, in 2013's Krrish 3 starring Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra.

Pran has acted in almost every major Bollywood release for decades, especially in the 1960s and 1970s. With his bloodshot eyes, his cold voice and his trademark sneer, he brought villain centre stage. His role of a scheming brother-in-law from Ram Aur Shyam is still etched in people's minds.

Ajit immortalised the suave villain with his individual style and characteristic accent in which he introduced himself "Saara shehar mujhe lion ke name se jaanta hai".
