Best Universities of India 2019

The India Today Best Universities survey, conducted by Marketing and Development Research Associates (MDRA), examined the country's universities in four streams (General, Technical, Law, Medical)

With each passing year, private universities have been challenging the traditional centres of learning. While such competition is welcome, what's of concern is the performance of Indian universities on the global platform.

The National Law School of India University, Bangalore has exchange programmes with the National University of Singapore, Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Canada and Buceuius Law School, Germany. This has facilitated exchange of ideas and culture between not only the law schools but also the countries.

In the field of medical research, AIIMS is the lead, having more than 600 research publications by its faculty and researchers in a year. AIIMS also runs a College of Nursing and trains students for B.Sc.(Hons.) Nursing post-certificate) degrees.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi building designed by Dr BV Doshi is based on the concept of a central step-well to conserve rainwater, a traditional Indian Baoli and is listed as one of the modern Iconic architecture of Delhi.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee had celebrated its Sesquicentennial in October 1996 and now completed more than 170 years of its existence. It was converted to IIT on September 21, 2001.
