When Kamala Harris boycotted Howdy Modi event

US Presidential nominee Joe Biden has picked Senator Kamala Devi Harris as his running mate to woo the Black voters and the influential Indian diaspora who could play a key role in his bid to defeat Donald Trump in the presidential election.

Kamla Harris has been a strong advocate of human rights, a stand that might not bode well for India given her stated position on the issue of Article 370 and impingement of human rights. She had boycotted the Howdy Modi event held in Texas last year.
