Violent protests ignite nationwide arson spree and unrest after fatal police shooting

France is gripped by protests and over 600 have been arrested after the fatal police shooting of a 17-year-old boy. 

Elite police units from France's RAID force were dispatched to Bordeaux, Lyon, Roubaix, Marseille, and Lille to assist in quelling the protests, as the country experienced a third night of unrest. 

Confrontations between protesters and police escalated in Nanterre, a Parisian suburb where the 17-year-old, Nahel M, lost his life in the southern port city of Marseille.
