'Our worst nightmare': Palestinian American boy, 6, killed by landlord in US

A 71-year-old man from Illinois has been charged with a hate crime after allegedly fatally stabbing a 6-year-old boy and seriously injuring a 32-year-old woman due to their Islamic faith. The accused reportedly singled out the victims as a response to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The incident unfolded in an unincorporated area of Plainfield Township, located approximately 40 miles southwest of Chicago, where officers discovered the woman and child late Saturday morning. The 6-year-old boy was pronounced dead at a hospital, having sustained multiple stab wounds, as revealed by the autopsy results. He had been stabbed dozens of times. His mother, who had called 911 to report the attack, survived multiple stab wounds and is expected to recover.
