Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, for the G20 Summit, which is being held on the African continent for the first time. The summit's theme is 'Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability', and the Prime Minister is scheduled to address three sessions. In a departure statement, Mr. Modi said, 'I will present India's perspective at the Summit in line with our vision of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' and 'One earth, One Family and One Future''. The visit is significant as it follows the African Union's induction as a permanent member during India's G20 presidency in 2023. The report notes that Chinese President Xi Jinping is not attending the summit. India's participation will focus on championing the voice of the Global South and building on the momentum from previous presidencies held by developing countries like Indonesia, India, and Brazil.
