PM Modi Addresses Ethiopian Parliament, Highlights Shared Heritage and 'Land of Lions' Connection

In a historic address to the Joint Session of the Ethiopian Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the deep cultural and historical ties between India and Ethiopia. Describing Ethiopia as the 'land of lions', PM Modi drew a personal parallel to his home state of Gujarat, stating, 'I feel very much at home.' He expressed gratitude for receiving the 'Grand Honor Nishan of Ethiopia' from Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, dedicating the award to the 1.4 billion people of India. The Prime Minister highlighted shared values, noting that both nations revere their land as 'mother', and called for a future built on synergy and the spirit of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'—the world is one family.
