Change begins now, says Keir Starmer as his Labour Party sweeps UK election

Britain's Keir Starmer will be the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom as his Labour Party registered a landslide victory in the general elections. The Labour Party crossed the magic number of 326 in the 650-seat Parliament swimmingly, prompting incumbent Rishi Sunak to concede defeat.

Addressing a victory rally in London, Starmer said that such a big mandate comes with a great responsibility and that 'change begins now'. 

Keir Starmer won his seat in north London but on a much-reduced majority, the Associated Press reported. After his victory, the Labour leader said "voters have spoken and they are ready for change".
