Bangladesh Violence Highlights: A Hindu man has been beaten to death in Bangladesh, the second such killing in days, heightening concerns over the safety of religious minorities in the country. Local media reported that 29-year-old Amrit Mondal, also known as Samrat, was attacked and killed in Rajbari’s Pangsha sub-district late on Wednesday night, around three-and-a-half hours from Dhaka. The killing follows the lynching of Dipu Chandra Das, whose body was set on fire earlier this week. The latest incident coincides with the return of senior opposition leader Tarique Rahman to Bangladesh after 17 years in self-imposed exile, as he pledged to ensure safety and justice if his party wins next year’s elections.
