Palestinians search for survivors amidst devastation of Israeli airstrikes

An Israeli airstrike on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza has resulted in the death of numerous individuals, as reported by a medical official and Palestinian authorities in the blockaded region.

On the 25th day of the ongoing conflict, Israeli airstrikes have demolished apartment buildings and caused the deaths of numerous individuals at a refugee camp in northern Gaza, a situation characterized by the United Nations as a tragic "graveyard" for children.

On Tuesday, more than 50 people lost their lives, and around 150 individuals sustained injuries as a result of at least six airstrikes striking residential areas within the Jabalia refugee camp on the outskirts of Gaza City, as reported by Hamas officials.

The Israeli military stated that it had targeted the camp with the aim of eliminating Ibrahim Biari, a key Hamas commander associated with the group's October 7 attack on Israel. According to the Israeli military, Biari had reportedly occupied civilian buildings in Gaza City with his fighters.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres restated his plea for an immediate cease-fire and urged all parties to adhere to international humanitarian law.

Before the strikes on Jabalia, according to figures from the Hamas health ministry, bombardments had resulted in the deaths of at least 8,525 Palestinians, including 3,542 children.
