Rentahuman.ai lets AI agents 'book a human' to do a physical job.

A new website called Rentahuman.ai is testing an unusual idea: letting AI agents employ humans for offline work. The platform allows AI systems to browse profiles, assign tasks and pay people, often using cryptocurrency.

Built by software engineer Alexander Liteplo, who works at UMA Protocol, the platform is driven by a deliberately provocative idea: while AI can process data and make decisions, it cannot operate in the physical world. Rentahuman.ai positions humans as the “hardware” that AI software can temporarily deploy. Its slogan sums up the concept bluntly: “Robots need your body. AI can’t touch grass. You can.”

Unlike traditional gig platforms where people use technology to find work, Rentahuman.ai allows AI agents themselves to browse human profiles, book services based on location and skills, and pay for completed tasks. In a post announcing the launch, Alexander said more than 130 people signed up within hours, including content creators and startup founders. “If your AI agent wants to rent a person to do an IRL task for them, it’s as simple as one MCP call,” he wrote.

To participate, developers must connect their AI agents using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which enables AI systems to interact with external tools and platforms. Humans, on the other hand, can sign up by listing their skills, preferred languages, service areas, and hourly rates. Payments are processed through Ethereum wallets, though the platform’s creators stress that it is not tied to any single cryptocurrency.

While some see Rentahuman.ai as a clever workaround for AI’s physical limitations, others are of the opinion it raises deeper questions about labour, agency, and how far automation should go. Many people thought that Moltbook would be the biggest news in the AI world but were amazed at the new development.

See the reactions:

Early reports suggest hourly rent rates range between $50 and $69, indicating strong early interest despite the platform’s experimental nature. As AI continues to move beyond screens and into daily life, platforms like this may offer a preview of an unsettling and possibly inevitable future.
