A man came across a fellow passenger using a tripod-mounted phone to watch a show mid-flight, and ended up turning an ordinary airline seat into what looked like a personal in-air entertainment studio.

A picture of the scene was shared on X by user Gajender Yadav, who wrote in the caption, “One of the wildest things I’ve seen on a flight: Someone on an IndiGo flight yesterday was literally using a tripod to hold his phone, just to binge a TV show/movie like he/she is at home. Brought a whole studio setup to 35,000 feet.”

The accompanying images show a passenger seated in front with a small tripod clipped or positioned against the tray table area, holding a smartphone horizontally at eye level. The screen appears to be playing a film or series.

Social media users, however, reacted with a mix of amusement and practicality. One user wrote, “Have done it multiple times. Had neck pain. So tripod really helps you to bring the screen at eye level..great if your flight doesn't have mobile stand or holder or screen.”

Another user raised a logistical concern, asking, “Do they allow gimble and tripod in hand luggage? I once saw security creating a ruckus and not allow one customer to carry in hand luggage at Mumbai airport.”

Several social media users also pointed out how passengers increasingly improvised personal viewing setups, especially on routes where seat-back entertainment or phone holders might not be available.
