If we look at the personal taxation rate, people in the Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh bracket will have to pay tax of 5 per cent instead of 10 per cent.

This is a big boost for tax payers in the above bracket. The finance minister expects that more people will come into the tax net as a result.
