DCW issues notice to school that barred rape-survivor student from attending classes

The Delhi Commission for Women today issued a notice to a Delhi school for barring a rape-survivor student from attending classes.

Parents of the 10th standard student alleged that the school refused to promote the girl to class 11 if she attended school. DCW has asked the department of education to furnish a report within five days.

Parents said that the school asked them to not send their ward as it would bring disrepute to the institution.
