Tesla not interested in manufacturing cars in India: Union Minister

Tesla is unlikely to manufacture its cars in India, Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy said on Monday. The government is finalising its electric vehicle policy while Tesla's plans focus on importing cars. Tesla recently secured showroom space and posted job openings in India, signalling a potential launch. The company had previously cited high import duties as a barrier to expansion in the country.
