ISRO LVM-3 Launches Bluebird: Nambi Narayanan Hails 'Game Changer' Mission for India

In a historic milestone for India's space programme, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the commercial satellite Bluebird onboard the LVM-3 rocket from Sriharikota. Weighing 6,100 kg, this is the heaviest satellite carried by the LVM-3 to date. Speaking on the broadcast, former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan termed the mission a ‘game changer’ for India’s position in the global commercial market. He highlighted the vehicle's ‘low cost with high reliability’ as a key factor attracting international clients like the US-based AST SpaceMobile. Narayanan noted, ‘This is going to be a game changer because... we will be getting the preference compared to anybody else.’ Space scientist P.K. Ghosh also joined the discussion, emphasising that India has proven itself as ‘one of the most reliable satellite launchers in the world’ while remaining cost-effective compared to competitors like SpaceX.
