Art historian BN Goswamy on Thursday said that art is not being given the importance it deserves. Speaking at 'Cultural Renaissance - Theatre and the Arts' session at India Today's State of the State Conclave Punjab, Goswamy said that Punjab has a museum in Chandigarh but no director.
"In last five years, six directors have come and left. We have not fixed that problem. Why can't we fix that problem? The system is broken. I study miniature paintings but hardly anything has been done about it. What is wrong with miniature paintings? Why nothing has been done to support it?" he asked.
