Sushil Modi opens up about seat-sharing formula between BJP, JD(U) for 2019

BJP president Amit Shah and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced last month that the BJP and the Janata Dal(United) would contest an equal number of seats in the Lok Sabha election next year in Bihar. This led many to ask the question -- why did the BJP agree to Nitish Kumar's demand for equal seats?

Explaining the new seat-sharing formula between the BJP and JD(U), Sushil Modi said, "We got more seats in 2014 Lok Sabha election but they got more seats in 2015 Bihar Assembly election. Our number came down from 97 to 55 in the Assembly election. We understand each other's strength. Statistical figures don't matter in an election."
