India defeated Pakistan on June 16 and they are now geared up to take on Afghanistan on June 22. Plenty has happened in the Indian camp between these two games. Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of the World Cup and Rishabh Pant was named his replacement. Meanwhile, there was an injury scare for Vijay Shankar but he turned up for a brief training session.
There was word Rishabh Pant might make his World Cup debut if Vijay Shankar is not fit in time for the match against Afghanistan. Virat Kohli said India would not take Afghanistan lightly even after comprehensive victories over South Africa, Australia and Pakistan.
Expect India to be as ruthless and clinical when they take the field in Southampton.
