Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out for 3 weeks with a fractured thumb which means he will miss matches against New Zealand, Pakistan, Afghanistan, West Indies and England. India might name a replacement for Dhawan but his absence at the top of the order is a blow to India.

According to sources, Shreyas Iyer or Rishabh Pant might replace Dhawan. Ajinkya Rahane is also being considered as an option.
