Knew Harshit Rana can bat, he hits me for sixes in training: Abhishek Sharma

IND vs AUS, 2nd T20I: Speaking to the press after hitting a fifty in India's defeat in Melbourne, opener Abhishek Sharma said he was not surprised to see Harshit Rana chip in with the bat. Abhishek also backed India to win the Women's World Cup on Sunday in Navi Mumbai.

"I knew Harshit could bat well because he hits me for sixes in the nets. I knew if he gets an opportunity to bat, he would be able to do it. He came and told me that he would try and play normally. I think, as a batter, he was aware of the situation and that we needed to take the game deep. Having Harshit in the middle also ensured a right-left combination. And because of that, he came ahead of Shivam Dube. On that pitch, we needed right-left combination," he said.
