A controversy has followed the Asia Cup 2025 tournament, as Asian Cricket Council chief Mohsin Naqvi has refused to hand over the trophy to the BCCI vice president. Naqvi, who is also a Pakistan minister, has stated that Indian skipper Surya Kumar Yadav must visit the Asian Cricket Council to collect the trophy. In an interview with India Today's Nikhil Naaz, Surya Kumar Yadav addressed the situation, stating, "14 players and 10-12 support staff. That's the real trophy." He said the team's priority was to play cricket and they remained focused on the game, adding that winning the tournament was the best answer they could give to anyone.
