That wraps up an entertaining game, with UP Warriorz picking up back-to-back wins and finally moving off the bottom spot, while Mumbai Indians will have a few questions to answer ahead of their next outing. Meg Lanning, the victorious skipper of UP Warriorz, is also the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for her excellent knock. She says that it is a nice bonce-back for them. Adds that it was not ideal to lose the opening game, but the group stayed positive and backed themselves. Mentions that getting back-to-back wins against a strong MI side is very pleasing and gives them momentum going ahead in the season.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of Mumbai Indians, mentions that her team wanted to chase after winning the toss, but they didn't bowl well, although they managed to restrict the opposition to under 200, which was a positive. However, she acknowledges that their batting in the powerplay wasn't great, and it's an area they need to work on. Kaur praises the Lanning-Litchfield partnership, noting that they were both batting hard, but unfortunately, her team missed a few chances in between. She emphasizes that at this level, missed chances can put a lot of pressure on the opposing team. She also stresses the need for her team to discuss and improve, as they've been making too many mistakes. She believes that with a good team and fewer mistakes, they can win matches. Ended up saying that at the end Amanjot Kaur and Kerr's partneship lit some hopes for them and she is hopefull and they will continue like this in upcoming matches.

UP Warriorz will be very pleased with their bowling effort. Kranti Gaud set the tone early with her first wicket of the season, and Sophie Ecclestone followed it up soon after. They tightened their grip through the middle overs, with Chloe Tryon and Deepti Sharma keeping things under control. There was a brief moment of concern when Amanjot and Kerr launched a counter-attack, but Shikha Pandey struck at just the right time to all but seal the game.

Earlier in the game, UP Warriorz put up an imposing total, built around a commanding 119-run partnership between the Australian pair of Phoebe Litchfield and Meg Lanning, with both bringing up well-earned half-centuries. However, they just could not quite finish with the late surge they would have wanted and might feel they left a few runs out there. Mumbai Indians found it tough for large parts of the innings, but Nat Sciver-Brunt and Amelia Kerr sparked a late fightback, combining brilliantly in the final overs to pick up five wickets while conceding just 10 runs, keeping their side firmly in the contest.

Mumbai Indians needed a strong start but never quite got one. They tried a fourth opening combination by sending out Sajana Sajeevan alongside Hayley Matthews, but it failed to click, and they made poor use of the Powerplay while losing both openers early. Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur then attempted to stabilise the innings, but with the required rate climbing, they too fell, leaving MI struggling at 69/5. Amanjot Kaur and Amelia Kerr mounted a spirited counter-attack with an 82-run partnership that briefly kept the chase alive, but in the end, the target proved a step too far.

UP Warriorz have completed the double over Mumbai Indians, becoming only the second team to win both their league matches against MI after Delhi Capitals in the WPL. Fittingly, that Capitals side was led by Meg Lanning, and with this result, UP have firmly put their season back on track.

As the Mumbai Indians players walked out of the ground during the innings break, they didn't seem like they were under pressure. So we can say skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is happy that his team restricted their opposition to 187. Now the responsibility is on the batting unit to chase the target. However, some early wickets will surely give the Warriorz some boost. Stay tuned as the second essay will commence in no time. 

Amelia Kerr also shares a few words. She says that obviously, they got a bit away from them. Adds that Meg and Phoebe are two quality players, and it was not easy. Mentions that they tried to keep it tight for as long as possible. Says that they thought about keeping them under 180, but to keep them under 200 is also a win for them. Ends by saying that they will have to bat well to chase this down.

Amelia Kerr and Phoebe Litchfield exchange the ORANGE and PURPLE CAPS. Kerr gets the Purple Cap from Phoebe and hands over the Orange one to her. Pheobe wears it and is ready for a chat. She says that it is the best of the three pitches they have played. Adds that it got a bit worn off, but it was good to bat on. Mentions that it was awesome batting with Meg, as they complemented each other well. Ends by saying that she hopes they defend this total.

In the very next over, Hayley Matthews followed suit, dismissing the opposition’s captain, Lanning. From that point, the flow of runs came to a halt, putting immense pressure on the new batters. Yet, as the innings entered the final overs, they began to swing for the skies once again. In response, MI bowlers replied exceptionally well and allowed only 22 runs in the last three overs while taking five wickets. By the end of the inning, Amelia Kerr bagged three wickets and all of them came in the last over, Nat Sciver-Brunt picked a brace, and Nicola Carey, Hayley Matthews, and Amanjot Kaur chipped in with one each. 

UP Warriorz got an early setback in the shape of Kiran Navgire, whose string of low runs continues, but the partnership between Phoebe Litchfield and Meg Lanning quickly became a nightmare for the Mumbai Indians' bowlers. As they built their stand, runs began to accumulate rapidly. By the end of the 13th over, they were in full attack mode. However, in a dramatic turn, Amanjot Kaur struck in the final ball of that 13th over, claiming a vital wicket that shifted the game's momentum. 

The inning has been no less than a tug of war! UP Warriorz have posted a total of 187 runs, but skipper Meg Lanning would have been more satisfied if they could cross the 200-run mark and actually it's true. After the partnership between Lanning and Phoebe Litchfield, everybody thought that they were going to cross the 200 mark, but after breaking that stand, the MI bowlers came back brilliantly in the death overs.

Very rarely do we see Harman put down such an easy chance. Maybe a lot of things are going through her head as this partnership is looking really threatening.
