Sachin Tendulkar rallies Mumbai with timely pep talk before Ranji Trophy quarterfinal
Sachin Tendulkar shared insights on pressure and preparation with the Mumbai squad ahead of their Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Karnataka, offering timely motivation before the knockout clash.

Batting great Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday shared his insights on handling pressure and sustaining a winning mindset during an interaction with the Mumbai squad ahead of their Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Karnataka.
The 42-time champions will face the eight-time winners in the last-eight clash of the Ranji Trophy at the MCA-BKC Ground from February 6 to 10.
Tendulkar, a former Mumbai captain, fielded questions from players and members of the coaching staff during an extended interaction at the BKC facility, with the focus firmly on preparation, approach and dealing with high-pressure situations in knockout cricket.
“We were lucky to be graced by Sachin sir’s presence in the dressing room today. Rather than just a pep talk, it was more of a Q&A session,” Mumbai skipper Shardul Thakur said in a statement. “Players and coaches asked a variety of questions about preparation, winning mindset and handling pressure in tough situations.”
Thakur added that Tendulkar’s guidance has consistently proved invaluable for the Mumbai side, boosting confidence ahead of a crucial encounter.
Mumbai received a timely boost earlier this week with Thakur and India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal returning to the squad for the quarterfinal. Jaiswal’s inclusion marks his second appearance for Mumbai this season, following his outing against Rajasthan in the opening round.
