Jemimah Rodrigues has earned a promotion to Grade B in the BCCI central contract following her heroic showing at the Women's World Cup, highlighted by a brilliant century against Australia in the semi-final.

Jemimah Rodrigues has been rewarded for her outstanding performance at the Women’s World Cup with a promotion in the BCCI’s women’s central contracts for the 2025–26 season. She has been elevated from Grade B to Grade A, joining senior stars Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma.

Jemimah’s World Cup journey began on a tough note, with two ducks leading to her omission from the playing XI. However, she bounced back in style, scoring a crucial half-century against New Zealand before producing a match-winning maiden World Cup century against Australia in the semi-final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, underlining her resilience and big-match temperament.

HARLEEN MAKES A COMEBACK

Harleen Deol has made a return to the BCCI central contracts after being left out last season. Pratika Rawal, Kranti Gaud, Sree Charani, Kashvee Gautam, G Kamalini, Vaishnavi Sharma and Tejal Hasabnis have all earned their maiden contracts. Pratika, Kranti and Charani were part of India’s World Cup squad and made valuable contributions with impressive performances.

Vaishnavi and Kamalini recently made their international debuts in the series against Sri Lanka after leading the India U19 side to glory in the second edition of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Kashvee, meanwhile, continues to be seen as a future prospect, having established herself as a genuine fast-bowling all-rounder, while Tejal has been part of national squads across multiple series.

SHREYANKA MISSES OUT

All-rounder Sneh Rana has also been promoted to Grade B after being in Grade C in the previous contract cycle. However, there were notable omissions, with Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu and Pooja Vastrakar missing out on central contracts this time.

The Indian women’s team is currently in Australia for a multi-format tour, which begins with a three-match T20I series starting February 15 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
