IPL Auction 2026 Highlights: Full list of players sold, top buys, best steal deals

Every single team fill their maximum quota of players in the mini-auction.

A maximum of 77 players could have been sold today, and they did. Teams had set plans and most were able to execute what they wanted. (READ)

Adam Milne: The veteran fast bowler finds interest from Rajasthan Royals. They snap him up for Rs 2.40 crore, seeing off a small bid from Delhi Capitals.

SRH entered the accelerated round of the auction with over Rs 20 crore.

Daneil Vettori's SRH brought a string of young Indian cricketers for very little money, which surprised many in the auction room.

Vettori says that SRH did a lot of scouting this season and were quite happy to bid for some of the unknown players.

Take for example Krains Fuletra, who is a left arm leg spinner. Fuletra was brought for just Rs 30 lakh.

Last season, Fuletra was very close to joining SRH team, but he could not due to a technicality.

Teams have been asked to give the names that they want in the final round of the auction.

Jack Edwards: BBL star Jack Edwards finds bids from CSK and GT. Here is a video of him batting.

There is a small bidding war for him. GT walks away at Rs 1.60 crore. SRH have entered the bidding now and are up against CSK. SRH of course have the biggest purse here.

This will be the last buy for either of the teams.

They end their auction with a winning bid and have 5 crores left in the or bank.

SRH find competition from LSG. The bids have risen to Rs 6 crore, for a player who will not even be a part of IPL this season.

The bids have risen to Rs 7 crore.

SRH have a budget of Rs 8.45 crore, LSG have Rs 13.15 crore in the bank.

LSG outbid SRH - buy Josh Inglis for Rs 8.60 crore.

CSK have outbid Punjab. CSK buy the player at Rs 5.20 crore.

SRH have got their target, and at a very low price. The fast bowler, who opens the bowling is sold for Rs 75 lakh.

Yes he does. KKR are in for the Bengal pacer. They buy Akash Deep for Rs 1 crore.

That is a huge value dip for Akash Deep, who was sold for big money in the last auction to LSG.

Liam Livingstone: This is expected to be the biggest buy in this round. It was quite surprising that teams did not bid for the player in the first round itself. SRH and KKR start off the bids. SRH nearly buys the all-rounder at Rs 3 crore.

GT counters for Livingstone. The bids rise to Rs 4.40 crore, where LSG come in. SRH have a lot of money in bank and can simply bully the opposition.

Livingstone Breaches Rs 10 crore!

Right then, LSG are going for it. But SRH have 20+ crore in the bank and only need to fill 2 slots. 

The bids continue to climb and SRH beat LSG to buy Liam Livingstone for Rs 13 crore.

Cameron Green's high valuation in the Indian Premier League has continued.

In 2023: Green was sold to MI for Rs 17.50 crore

In 2024: Green was traded for Rs 17.50 crore to RCB as MI had to bring back Hardik Pandya

Green missed the IPL 2025 due to back injury and was not retained by RCB

In 2025: Green's value rose to a massive Rs 25.20 crore with KKR buying the player in the mini-auction.

What is Prashant Veer's journey?

Since childhood, I just wanted to play cricket. My parents and grandfather supported me financially. I started playing seriously around 12–13 years old and left home around 13–14. I feel very lucky that my parents had the courage to let me go. I went to Saharanpur and practiced at SBBA Cricket Academy under Rajeev Goyal sir. I learnt a lot there, played well, and the Saharanpur Cricket Association supported me a lot. Rajeev sir and Rajeev Shukla sir also supported me. Without their support, none of this would have been possible.

Chennai Super Kings picked up two uncapped Indian players for a huge some of money. Keeper-batter Kartik Sharma and all-rounder Prashant Veer were bought for a sum of Rs 14.20 crore - the most money an uncapped player has earned in the history of the IPL.

Out of the two, the profile of Prashant Veer is quite interesting.

He is probably being looked as a long-time replacement for Ravindra Jadeja.

Cameron Green fetched a record price of Rs 25.20 crore. He is now the most expensive overseas player of all time.

Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma - two uncapped Indian batters fetched a record price of Rs 14.20 crore - the highest ever bid given to any uncapped star in auction history.

This is such a mega day for the uncapped India players. And it goes onto speak a lot about the power of social media, domestic T20 leagues and the scouting systems that franchises have in place.

CSK perhaps found out last season that T20 had moved on from old and experienced players, and they invested heavy money on youngsters.

Here are two of CSK's picks - who they brought for record money today.

Who is Prashant Veer?

Prashant Veer's breakthrough on the domestic scene came through impressive performances in age-group and senior competitions. Representing Uttar Pradesh and the Noida Super Kings in the UP T20 League, he stood out with his dynamic contributions with both bat and ball. In the 2025 UP T20 League, he scored heavily, amassing 320 runs at an excellent strike rate (around 155) and striking three fifties, showcasing his ability to finish innings with authority.

In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, India's premier domestic T20 tournament, at 112 runs at a strike rate of 170 and picked up nine wickets in seven matches. 

His performances in the Men’s U-23 State A Trophy 2025-26 were particularly eye-catching: in seven matches he scored 376 runs at an average of 94, including 19 sixes and 32 fours, while also claiming 18 wickets with an economy of about 5.36. That all-round impact earned him Player of the Tournament honours and cemented his reputation as a match-winner in domestic cricket.

What makes Veer especially compelling to franchises is the similarity in role to Ravindra Jadeja — a left-arm spin option who can hit crucial lower-order runs and provide reliable bowling in the middle overs. His combination of destructive hitting, useful spin, and athletic fielding has led many to label him a potential Jadeja-type all-rounder, particularly for teams seeking an Indian multi-dimensional player. Vignesh Puthur started his career very well with Mumbai Indians, but leg injury forced him out of the tournament.

Puthur finds bid only from RR and is sold for Rs 30 lakh.

Meanwhile, veteran Karan Sharma is unsold. His base price was Rs 50 lakh.

Naman Tiwari is up next and finds aggressive bidding from the franchises.

He is a young left-arm pacer, with the habit of wrecking the stumps of the batters.

LSG show trust in the left-arm pacer. And they beat RR and DC to pick up Tiwari for Rs 1 crore.

Ashok Sharma is the first bowler in the list.

The pacer finds bids from KKR, CSK and RR.

He has the ability to clock 150 kmph.

It is very interesting to see how the franchises snubbed the big names at the start and were ready to invest big money in unproven players, who they have found promising in the domestic circuit.

GT comes in late and snoops in to pick up Ashok Sharma at Rs 90 lakhs.

KKR are after yet another keeper-batter.

They have Finn Allen, Angrish Raghuvanshi and now they buy Tejasvi Singh for Rs 3 crore. RR were in the bidding war but they decided to not spend one third of their remaining sum on the keeper batter.

What a day for the families of Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer!

Both get massive bids from CSK - who buy the duo for Rs 28.40 crore!

This is a huge gamble that CSK are putting on the youngsters.

Middle-order wicketkeeper-batter Kartik Sharma is getting aggressive bids from KKR and CSK.

The value of the player has risen sharply from his base price of Rs 30 lakh.

Earlier, LSG walked out of the bidding war at Rs 2.60 crore.

WOW! After Prashant Veer, Kartik Sharma is getting a high bid from the IPL teams.

CSK and KKR are still going at it and the bid rises to Rs 12 crore.

Hold on! It looked like Kartik Sharma was going to CSK for Rs 13 crore. Now SRH have entered the bidding process.

However, CSK hold off SRH and buy Kartik Sharma for Rs 14.20 crore. He matches the value of Prashant Veer in this auction.

In the recent years, uncapped Indian players have shown that they are no less than international stars.

The likes of Digvesh Rathi and Vipraj Nigam did well last season.

In this auction, we are seeing a huge share of money to go to Kartik Sharma.

Prashant Veer is the most expensive uncapped player in the history of IPL. So the new Ravindra Jadeja is a Super King for IPL 2026. He has been a busy man on the domestic circuit recently, shuttling between Mumbai and Kolkata and playing a total of six games in seven days, representing UP in SMAT and the U-23 level. 

He scored 112 runs at a strike-rate over 170 in those matches and nine wickets in six games. 

Coming in at a base price of 30 Lakhs, LSG and MI, began the bidding war. CSK joined in and pushed the bid to 4.4 Cr. RR comes in and pushes it all the way to 6 Cr. A left-handed batter and lleft-arm orthodox bowler, he could be seen as the next Jadeja by CSK. Because they have pushed the bid to 6.6 Crore. 

Two former CSK boys, Vijay Shankar and Rajyavardhan Hangargekar have gone unsold. Shankar became an uncapped player after last representing India in 2019. Joining then are Mahipal Lomror and Eden Apple Tom, who go unsold as well. 

DC were keen on getting Auqib Nabi Dar and they have landed their man after fending off SRH in the end. Auqib has been incredible for J & K in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, picking up 15 wickets in 7 matches. He is sure to add a new dimension to the DC attack. 

RCB comes in and the bidding is now at the 2 Cr mark. And then they back out. DC thought they got the man and SRH come in. It has quickly gone up to the 6 Cr mark. 

Auqib Dar is the first name out of the bag and it is DC who go in with the opening bid. And the Royals also jump in. It's a bidding war at the moment and the bid goes up to 1 Cr. 

LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka is happy that they were able to get Wanindu Hasaranga and Anrich Nortje, who were part of their shortlist. Speaking of the Pathirana bid, Goenka said that Rishabh Pant was keen on getting the Sri Lanka pacer. 

"Our captain Rishabh Pant, vice-captain were both keen on Pathirana and so was I. We went till 17.8 Cr, which was our limit. But getting Nortje for base price was pleasantly surprising," said Goenka.

The BCCI will earn Rs 7.20 crore from the Cameron Green deal.

The money will go towards player welfare.

The Indian Premier League made a key rule change last year to prioritise Indian players. What it did was cap the salary of any overseas player at the highest retention fee of an Indian player.

Consider last year’s IPL 2025 mega-auction. Rishabh Pant received the highest bid among Indian players, which stood at Rs 27 crore. Now, hypothetically, if an overseas player attracted a winning bid of Rs 30 crore, he would not receive the entire amount. Instead, the player would be paid Rs 27 crore, matching Pant’s auction price, while the remaining Rs 3 crore would be deposited with the BCCI.

In the case of mini-auctions, the cap is linked to the highest retention fee of an Indian player. For example, Virat Kohli was retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs 21 crore. However, since the highest retention slab is officially set at Rs 18 crore, an overseas player can earn a maximum of Rs 18 crore at this year’s mini-auction. Whatever he earns beyond that goes straight into the BCCI’s coffers to help with player welfare.

Why was this rule made in the first place?

Reports suggest that the change was driven by the franchises themselves, many of whom were unhappy with overseas players selectively entering mini-auctions to command inflated prices.

These concerns led the BCCI to take action on two fronts. First, the board addressed the issue of players choosing auctions strategically. Under the new rules, any player who withdraws from the auction after registering faces a two-year ban from the IPL. Additionally, overseas players who skip the mega-auction are no longer allowed to enter the mini-auction.

The second measure is where the debate intensifies, and it directly relates to the salary cap being discussed. According to this rule, any portion of an overseas player’s auction fee that exceeds the highest-paid Indian player’s amount is redirected to the BCCI for player welfare.

One of the big names in the IPL 2026 auction is Ravi Bishnoi, the star India spinner who was surprisingly released by LSG. 

With teams looking to bolster their spin arsenal, Bishnoi could fetch big money, and former cricketer Priyank Panchal agrees.

“Cameron Green could even come back as an opener—you never really know. But when you look at his overall utility as a player, especially if you’re going to pay big money—and you will, because there are very few all-rounders of his quality—you need to get the best out of Cam Green. For me, that means batting him at the top of the order and using the first six overs. He has the reach and the skill to take on fast bowling, and he can handle spin once it comes on. If he bats in the middle order, I don’t think that’s ideally suited to him. Opposition teams will immediately turn to spin when Cam Green walks in during the middle overs, and in India every IPL side has a couple of quality spinners," said Kumble on Star Sports.

“KKR certainly need to be very clear, and that clarity is crucial at the auction table. You also need to be nimble—thinking ahead and asking, ‘What if we don’t get this player? Who’s the alternative?’ All those plans have to be in place before you sit down at the auction table," said Kumble on Star Sports.

“I think it’s either the yellow or the purple jersey—we’re not sure yet. Those are the two teams that can really go after someone like Cam Green. It was interesting to see him placed in the first slot, primarily because he’s an all-rounder. The management probably put him in the batters’ bracket because he’s the highest-profile player available in that first group. That may be one of the reasons, although the IPL could just as easily have placed him in the second slot reserved for all-rounders," said Kumble on Star Sports.

"Be that as it may, Kolkata and Chennai have the most flexibility at the top of the auction. Both would want a player of his ability—especially KKR, with Andre Russell now retired and part of the support staff. The big question is: where will Cam Green bat? As a bowler, we know he might give you four overs, or he might not—that’s similar to what Russell used to do for them. But his batting role is crucial. Will he be a finisher, or will he push to open the innings? He has opened for Australia on a couple of occasions and even scored a hundred for Mumbai Indians," he added.

"So where he fits in the batting order will determine how aggressively teams go after him. Of course, a player of that ability is always in demand, but role clarity is key. That’s why Wenky Mysore’s comment stood out—when he said they’re entering unfamiliar territory with a smaller auction and a lot of work to do. KKR, in particular, still have a lot of rebuilding ahead of them," he said.

The BCCI has added six overseas players as late entrants to the auction register and that includes a Malaysian.

"I think it will depend on the skill set — whether it’s a left-arm seamer or a leg-spinner. In the left-arm seamers, Naman Tiwari stood out in the last U19 edition; he swings the ball well and keeps it close to the stumps. In the spinner category, Shubham Agarwal is a very good leg-spinner and an experienced option. Keep an eye on both of them."
