As a group we got partnerships. With Will Young to start and what GP does is quite special. Nice to get across the line.

I am just trying to concentrate to being in present. Trying to watch the ball and then repeat again and again and hopefully make some good decisions on the way.

[on partnership with Phillips] GP is a good mate. It's awesome to see him get a hundred as well. Partnerships are something we are proud of as a group and to do that with GP, he's obviously been out injured for a long time as well so just really proud how he came back and doing what he's doing.

After the first match, coming here 1-1, the way we played was a bit disappointing. A lot of areas that need some improvement.

(On possible concerns) I wouldn't say concern. But there are areas we need to look back and do some things better. 

(On Virat Kohli and other positives) The way Virat bhai is batting is definitely a plus always. The way Harshit has batted in this series. Batting at 8 is not easy and the way he has stepped up and the way our pacers have bowled is pretty good.

(On promoting Nitish Kumar Reddy in batting order) Yeah, I mean keeping the World Cup in mind and where it will be played. We want to give him opportunities and we want to give him enough overs, to see what combinations work for us and what deliveries work for him."

Netizens are slamming India's series loss against New Zealand.

 Let's not forget that India did give a terrific fight in this game and could have won it if a little more game sense was shown.

Last year New Zealand beat India 3-0 away from home to create history in Test cricket. This time, New Zealand have managed to overturn a 0-1 deficit and win the series by 2-1 margin.

This is history for the young and inexperienced team, which did not have the services of Kane Williamson, Mitchell Santner and Lockie Ferguson.

They did not even have the services of Michael Bracewell, who had injured his calf and did not bowl a single delivery.

And yet, and yet, they manage to pull it off against a full strength Indian side (minus Bumrah), who themselves are in transition at moment.

It will  be very interesting to see how the post-match and presser goes.

The final wicket comes via a run out, as Arshdeep Singh tries to steal a quick single against the arm of Glenn Phillips.

Stationed at cover, Phillips is agile and he hits the stumps directly to affect a run out in the final ball of the 46th over.

45.4: Kristian Clarke to Virat Kohli, OUT! IN THE AIR....GONE! That is probably the game for New Zealand, and it is pin-drop silence here in Indore. Kristian Clarke goes fuller and on off. Virat Kohli tries to launch it down the ground, but his bat turns in his hands upon contact. He ends up mistiming it high in the air towards long off, where fittingly, it is Daryl Mitchell who settles under it and pouches it safely. It is disappointing for Kohli and India, as he walks back for a magnificent 124 off 108, but it won't be in a winning cause here. The crowd applauds him, but it is the Kiwis who are celebrating.

With that, India's hopes of winning the match and the series has been washed out.

Oh No! What has happened here.

Mohammed Siraj has edged one down the leg side and that is the 8th wicket down for India. 2 in 2 for New Zealand and the pressure is back on Virat Kohli once again.

Rana is deep in the crease for a heave across the line. He is late on the shot and spoons it in front of long on. Henry Nicholls comes charging in off the ropes and slides to take a fine catch under pressure. The 99-run stand is broken.

42.1: Kyle Jamieson to Harshit Rana, FOUR! Up and over! Jamieson pitches it up at the sticks with mid off inside the circle. Harshit clears the front leg and swings through the line. Not a clean connection but more than enough to clear the man at mid off.

42.3: Kyle Jamieson to Virat Kohli, SIX! Launched down the ground! Jamieson errs in length as he dishes out a low full toss, on off. Kohli does not miss out as he holds his shape and lofts it with a straight bat back over the bowler's head for a six.

42.6: Kyle Jamieson to Harshit Rana, SIX! 21 runs off the over! Just the over India were looking for. Short of the length ball, and Harshit absolutely clubs that one over long on.

This is the big over that India were looking for. Harshit Rana and Virat Kohli have taken 21 runs from Kyle Jamieson's 9th over.

He has played some incredible shots today, and has had to change multiple gears due to the dismissals on the other end.

And that is why perhaps, many fans on social media are angry at Nitish's dismissal against Clarke.

He frees his muscles and deposits Foulkes for a huge six as 12 runs come off the 26th over.The order from the team management will be to mimic what Mitchell and Phillips did in the New Zealand innings. 

And here comes another six and Nitish gets to his fifty in style. He pulls out the Pushpa celebration and 10 comes off the over.

For 32 balls, India didn't have a boundary to their name and it is Kohli who gets it with a very controlled shot that beats Kyle Jamieson. New Zealand at the half way mark were 119 for three and India are way ahead in that aspect. The only issue for them is the lack of batters to follow after this stand. 

Jadeja hasn't been in the best of form and Harshit's batting is still a work in progress.

While the wickets column may suggest that India are in trouble, that isn't the case at all. Virat Kohli has got to his fifty in 51 balls and India are actually ahead of where New Zealand were in their innings at this stage. Just as we say that, a small mix up almost sees the star batter get run out. There was a collective gasp of air at that point as they will want Kohli to continue on his merry ways. The partnership is also more than fifty and they're steadying things in Indore.

The complaint about Nitish Kumar Reddy has been that he hasn't done a lot with the chances that he has gotten so far. Well, he has a big chance to make an impression and he welcomes stand-in captain Daryl Mitchell with a lofted shot down the ground. 

A good release shot and then there is concentration on show with good defence. His job is to stay and give Virat Kohli company tonight in Indore as they look to navigate through the rough phase.

Iyer stands tall and tries to pull it on the front foot. He hits it quite well but does not get the elevation at all. It flies flat and straight to mid on, where Zakary Foulkes reverse cups it near his chest, while tumbling backwards after taking it. Poor choice of shot from Iyer and he has to walk back for 3 off 10, and India are 68/3, chasing 338 runs.

The last time India lost an ODI series at home was in March 2023, when Australia hammered them in a 3-match series.

Senior India batter Virat Kohli starts with a bang. He has redifined his ODI batting, by changing his approach at the start of his innings. Kohli has become more aggressive at the start, and is willing to take risks.

In the 5th ball of the 6th over, Kohli pulls Zakary Foulkes with disdain, hitting the short ball for a massive six through midwicket.

Expect some more fireworks from the batter in this powerplay.

India opener Rohit Sharma ends his series without a single 50+ score. This is the first poor ODI series from Rohit Sharma this year, after some strong outings against Australia and South Africa last year.

Rohit Sharma got a second life, but he fails to make the most of it. He was dropped on 7 by Hay, and then the former India captain sends it to the boundary. Just as he was looking to maximise, he hit the ball straight to Kristian Clarke inside the circle. This means that Rohit ends the series without a fifty. A rare failure for the Hitman.

Ravi Shastri on commentary was saying that the Indian openers could be cautious early on and will be assessing the conditions. This was after Gill played the first three balls for dots. Just as Shastri said that the powerplay needs to be maximised, Gill obliges with two boundaries. One a pull shot, and then a nice leg glance. He finishes it off with a single to make it nine off the over.

An early free hit for India! Zak Foulkes clips the stumps at the bowler's end as he was delivering the first ball of the over. Rohit Sharma finds the elevation, but the timing was a bit off and it falls well ahead of the boundary line. Shubman Gill is able to finally pierce the gap and send the ball to the boundary. 10 comes off the Foulkes over and the chase is well underway. The ball is coming on sweetly onto the bat.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill make their way to the middle as India begin their chase of 338 to win the series. For New Zealand, there is history on the line as a win in Indore will mean that they claim an ODI series on Indian soil for the first time. 

It is going to be an interesting chase and Kyle Jamieson has the ball in his hand with Rohit taking strike. 

And the former ODI captain starts with an elegant shot to the boundary. Jamieson has been able to pull things back in the next five deliveries, not giving Rohit any width to play with. Now it is over to the Indian captain, who has scored fifties in the first two matches. But India will need a big score from him.

Well then. After refusing strike in the first four balls, Michael Bracewell finishes off with a 6 and a four.

Bracewell's cameo of 28 runs off 18 balls has helped New Zealand to a total of 337 runs in 50 overs, which is just about par in this surface.

How did Siraj conceded 10 runs in his last 2 balls you ask?

49.5: Mohammed Siraj to Michael Bracewell, SIX! Good proactive batting! Siraj moves away from the wide yorker plan as he spots Bracewell shuffle across the stumps and he looks to attack the stumps. This is full, on off and middle. Michael picks it up nicely over deep square leg for a six.

49.6: Mohammed Siraj to Michael Bracewell, FOUR BYES! Oh, that's gone through. 10 runs off the last 2 balls after the first four dots. Bracewell shuffles across his crease and tries to lap the ball. Siraj bowls one on the leg stump. Bracewell fails to connect and KL Rahul is wrong-footed, while expecting a wide-yorker.

New Zealand finish with 337 runs from 50 overs.

This is turning out to be a bizarre over from New Zealand's perspective and a stunning over for India.

Mohammed Siraj is keeping the balls full, into the blockhole, and Michael Bracewell is hitting them into the hands of the fielder stationed at the boundary line.

Bracewell has denied strike to Kyle Jamieson, who is a capable batter himself.

Remember, India are well over their stipulated time and have one less fielder outside the circle.

New Zealand's captain for the tour Michael Bracewell is giving his absolute best in the final few overs.

He has digged out those low full tosses and hitting them through the line.

Bracewell hit Arshdeep for a six in the 48th over and now has started the penultimate one with a boundary against Harshit Rana.

47.4: Arshdeep Singh to Michael Bracewell, SIX! What a hit! Arshdeep gets the yorker wrong and Bracewell is able to get under the ball. Full and on middle and leg. Michael stays deep in the crease and collapses his back knee to slam it over deep mid-wicket for a six.

48.1: Harshit Rana to Michael Bracewell, FOUR! It almost went the distance! Low full toss, Bracewell lofts the ball through extra cover for a one bounce four.

India bowlers are doing well at the death. And they might just restrict New Zealand well below 350 in Indore.

Kuldeep Yadav has struck and removed the big hitter Mitchell Hay, while Arshdeep Singh has trapped Zakary Foulkes at short third man when he was trying to play a cheeky reverse lap.

A good gesture from the former India captain.

Not losing the spirit of the game despite being on the receiving end for the majority of the innings.

Wickets in back to back overs from India and these are crucial ones from hosts. First it was Arshdeep who forced Phillips into a false shot, and now, in the very next over, it is Mohammed Siraj who has given India yet another breakthrough by dismissing Daryl Mitchell.

44.1: Mohammed Siraj to Daryl Mitchell, OUT! TAKEN! Mohammed Siraj strikes now, and India get rid of both the set batters in back-to-back overs. Siraj bangs this into the pitch, but rolls his fingers to take pace off. Daryl Mitchell steps across to pull it away but just has to wait for it and ends up getting a top edge. It flies towards deep square leg, where Kuldeep Yadav runs forward and takes a good catching diving forward with the sun right in his eyes. Mitchell departs after a fantastic 137 off 131, and gets a cheeky push from Kohli while walking back.

HUGE HUGE breakthrough for India.

Arshdeep Singh strikes in the 44th over and gets rid of Glenn Phillips.

Full and wide, out of his hitting arc, Phillips edges the ball to KL Rahul, who grabs a good catch by outstretching his right arm.

43.1: Arshdeep Singh to Glenn Phillips, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Arshdeep Singh finally gets the breakthrough for India, and puts an end to this incredible 219-run stand. He goes full and outside off, takes pace off and keeps it out of the reach of the batter. Glenn Phillips still throws his bat at it but only manages to get a thin outside edge behind, where KL Rahul moves to his right and takes a sharp catch with his extended right glove as it gets stuck in it. Phillips walks back after a superb knock of 106 off 88, and New Zealand are 277/4 now.

Hundred for Glenn Phillips. 

His second in the ODI format and he is celebrating in style.

This is a sensational innings. He came out to bat at No.5, under pressure, where New Zealand needed a big innings from him.

He started slow, played second fiddle to Daryl Mitchell and then cut loose only after the 35th over. At one point he has batting at a strike-rate of 57, and now he has scored his hundred at 122.

Simply exceptional from the batter.

New Zealand are firmly on the accelerator and India are in heaps of trouble in Indore.

40.1: Kuldeep Yadav to Daryl Mitchell, SIX! STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW! Tossed up, full and on off. Daryl Mitchell goes down on one knee, extends his arms to reach out and launches it high and handsomely over the bowler's head for a biggie.

40.2: Kuldeep Yadav to Glenn Phillips, FOUR! Gets it away brilliantly! Kuldeep Yadav bowls this quick and short, on middle, skids through a bit. Glenn Phillips does not have the time to transfer his weight on the back foot and heaves it away and finds the small gap between deep mid-wicket and long on for a one-bounce four. Also, 250 up for New Zealand now.

40.3: Kuldeep Yadav to Glenn Phillips, SIX! Oh..my! That is a shot and a half. This is flighted, full and on middle. Glenn Phillips shows the full face of the bat and gently lofts it. The fielder at long off thinks he is the game but only watches it sail over his head for a biggie.

Harshit Rana and Nitish Reddy bowled poorly, and were taken off the attack.

The bowlers who replaced them - Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja have been taken apart in the 40th and 41st over.

Jadeja gives away 13, while Kuldeep is hit for 19 runs.

New Zealand have been rampant, and Shubman Gill is standing in the ground, with no clue what he has to do now.

He is yelling instructions to his teammates and is simply hoping for the best.

Harshit Rana has lost the plot. Usually, the middle overs are his strength but he has been well read by the New Zealand batters.

Rana gives away 15 runs from the 37th over, and Shubman Gill straightaway takes him off the attack.
