Agni Dev Chopra, son of Bollywood filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and film critic Anupama Chopra, has slammed reports claiming that he registered for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 auction, calling them "fake and misleading."

The clarification came after Agni Dev's name appeared on a list of players who had reportedly registered for the 11th edition of the PSL. According to the list, available on the official website of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Agni Dev was shown as a US citizen with a base price of PKR 600,000.

Addressing the speculation, Agni Dev took to Instagram to deny the claims, stating that he had not enrolled for the Pakistan-based T20 league. His statement was later shared by his mother Anupama Chopra on social media, amplifying his denial as the report gained traction across both cricket and cinema circles.

"Fake and misleading reports are being circulated in my name regarding a tournament. I would like to clarify that I have not enrolled for the PSL. I remain fully focused on my cricket journey in the USA and my long-term career goals. I request everyone not to fall prey to misinformation," Agni Dev wrote on his Instagram Story.

The reports had triggered widespread discussion, largely due to Agni Dev's Indian roots and his growing reputation in domestic cricket. Born in Detroit, USA, and holding an American passport, he was widely reported to have registered as an overseas associate player from the United States, a claim he has now categorically denied.
