Weather conditions across much of India are expected to remain largely dry this week, with a brief drop in temperatures likely to be felt again from Tuesday, February 11, 2026, as cooler northern winds return to parts of north India.

According to weather forecasts, around 90 per cent of the country will experience dry weather, with only limited precipitation expected in mountainous regions. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand may see light snowfall in isolated locations, while most plains areas will remain rain-free.

In Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, the sky is expected to remain mostly clear, although thin high-altitude clouds may be visible. Rain is not expected in these regions, though a few isolated areas in Punjab, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Bihar’s Terai region could see very light drizzle, with chances remaining low.

"Morning temperatures in parts of north India may dip slightly, especially in western Uttar Pradesh, where moderate to dense fog is likely during early hours. However, daytime temperatures are expected to stay relatively higher, as the influence of cold winds temporarily weakens," said Devendra Tripathi, founder of Mausam Tak.

This pattern is expected to change from February 11, when cooler winds from the north are likely to return, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures across parts of the northern plains, including Delhi and surrounding regions.

Meanwhile, central India, including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, is expected to see mostly dry weather, though conditions may feel slightly humid and less cool than usual due to increased moisture in the air and weaker winds.

Light cloud cover may appear in some of these areas.

In eastern India, including Jharkhand and West Bengal, weather conditions will remain mostly stable and dry.

Across southern India and most of the northeast, clear and dry weather is expected to continue, although Arunachal Pradesh could see some cloud formation and isolated rainfall as weather systems move across the Himalayan region.

The forecast reflects a typical late-winter weather pattern, where brief warming periods are followed by the return of cooler winds, bringing fluctuating temperatures across northern India.
