The nomination of former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi to Rajya Sabha has received a considerable amount of flak from the Opposition. The former CJI, who was once part of a Bench that made an observation: "Can't expect justice from those who throng the corridors of power looking for post-retirement sinecures," in the Roger Mathew case just a few months ago, is now at the receiving end of similar criticism.
