Finally, 19 days after his dramatic exit from the Congress party, former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh declared that he would be floating a new political party. He added that he is open to an alliance and seat sharing pact with the BJP, on the condition that the farmers' issues are settled.
"The battle for Punjab's future is on. Will soon announce the launch of my own political party to serve the interests of Punjab and its people, including our farmers who've been fighting for their survival for over a year," Singh said Tuesday.
